Project Finance Ball, September 2007

The Foundation successfully bid to become the nominated charity for the 11th Project Finance Ball held at the Old Billingsgate Market on Tuesday 11 September 2007.

News item image The Foundation was extremely pleased to have been chosen as charity recipient of the year for the Project Finance Ball, which was co-hosted by Norton Rose and ABN AMRO at Old Billingsgate Market in London recently.

The event annually hosts up to 700 guests who are mainly from Banks, Law Firms and Accountancy Firms across the City of London.

We were fortunate to have the very experienced auctioneering skills of Jeffrey Archer who did a marvellous job encouraging bidders on the night contributing to a staggering £50,000 raised in aid of the Foundation. Auction prizes were donated by Arsenal F.C., CNN, and RAF Marham and included signed memorabilia from Elvis Presley through to the Beatles, Harry Potter through to Zoë Wanamaker! Successful bidders were able to pay for the opportunity to be a CNN reporter for the day or even play against an Arsenal celerity/ex-pro team.

The event was attended by Lady Isabella Naylor-Leyland, Patron of the Foundation who represented the charity and a re-mastered DVD about Dyspraxia was introduced on the evening by Lady Lucinda Lambton, writer, photographer, television presenter and producer.

The event was hailed by the organisers as the most successful they had ever been involved in and we are extremely grateful to both Norton Rose and ABN AMRO for choosing the charity as the 2007 beneficiary.

The event represented the organisations best opportunity to raise the profile of dyspraxia amongst an esteemed audience since its inception; and it was fitting that it should have taken place during our 20th anniversary as a charity.

We are keen to be involved in more events of this type; please do contact Head Office or email [email protected] if you have any suggestions or ideas about how we could do more to raise awareness and funds through organised events.
