DYSPRAXIA FOUNDATION

GENERAL COUNCIL MEEETING

1 FEBRUARY 2025

LOCAL GROUP REPORT

KENT

Prepared by Paul Bennington

In Kent, things have been reasonably quiet over the last six months.

Although we run a regular programme of meetings we have found that

attendance has been low even when the meetings have been in response to

Members' requests earlier in the year. One of our members put together

this regular programme for the year ahead and this is usually available

from my website at www.leayat.freeserve.co.uk However, this has not been published for this year yet because I have had serious computer problems that have stopped this happening. This site also provides links to the special needs resources in the county.

The meetings we hold have been outings to places around Kent such as

Polar Adventure in Maidstone and the Lees Cliffe Adventure Playground in Folkestone - held at different places in the county to give members the opportunity to at least come to some of them. Every quarter we hold a coffee morning in Maidstone where members can get together and discuss problems and share experiences. Once again attendance at this event has gone down to a hard core of a few regular attendees.

Support continues to be given to parents who ring me having contacted

The Foundation but the number of contacts that I get this way also seems to be diminishing.
